| Evening Course:
History of Art, Part III: Pre-war to Pop |
|||||||
Six-week evening course on the following Tuesday evenings:
Spanning the turbulent middle years of the twentieth century, from the
Surrealist paintings of Dali and the Cubist masterpieces of Picasso to
the Abstract Expressionism of Pollock and Rothko, this course examines
the ways in which art was transformed in the prelude to and aftermath
of the Second World War.
Led by James Malpas, Course Leader, Styles in Art Semester programme, participants learn to interpret and understand paintings and sculpture in the context of a period which saw the birth of what many people now regard as quintessentially ‘modern’ art. Fee: £375 (£350 if booked by 19 April 2010) To book a place, call Martin Williams on +44 (0)20 7462 3249 or download our booking form, indicating which course you would like to take and email back to us at shortcourses@sothebysinstitute.com |
