Sotheby’s Institute of Art – London held their graduation ceremony on Friday, 24 April 2009 at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church located near Bedford Square.

Professor Jos Hackforth-Jones, Director, introduced the Order of Ceremony after a welcome by graduand, Anne Bracegirdle, MA Photography, 2007/8.

This year we were delighted to welcome Brett Steele, Director of the Architectural Association, London, who formally addressed our graduands at the Ceremony. In his address, Brette emphasised the international aspect of London and its cultural diversity as well as the neighbourliness of the small communities that make up London, with reference to the artistic community of our closest neighbours in Bedford Square.

The degrees were conferred by Professor Jos Hackforth-Jones on behalf of the Senate of the University of Manchester. The Ceremony finished with a champagne reception in the garden of Bedford Square.
