Our location in New York is in the centre of Manhattan with easy access to its rich cultural and historical resources as well as to leading galleries and museums. Through the auction house, we provide students with privileged access to pre-sale viewings, talks by experts and handling sessions. In addition, students visit the many commercial galleries, artists' studios, and museums that make New York such a unique and vibrant place to study art. ProgrammesIn New York we offer three graduate-level programmes in Art Business, Contemporary Art and American Fine and Decorative Art.* Upon the successful completion of this two semester course of study, students receive a non-credit Graduate Certificate which will be accepted in transfer by Sotheby’s Institute of Art—London. Students may then matriculate for the Master’s Degree by completing a dissertation (Master’s thesis) in a third semester of independent study under the supervision of the London faculty. The MA degree is validated by The University of Manchester (UK). Also, a variety of Summer Study courses and Public Programmes are offered in New York. Applications may be sent to us throughout the year before the course start date. Applications are being accepted for entry in early September, 2009 and scholarships and financial aid are available.* All New York coursework is offered on a non-credit basis. Your pathway to a career in the international art world The Institute has over 6,000 alumni worldwide, many of whom direct galleries, work in museums, foundations and auction houses, or pursue careers in art journalism, consulting and related professions.
