| Semester Study: Decorative Art and Design |

This course provides a comprehensive
understanding of the decorative arts, in relation
to architecture and interiors and the wider
cultural context, from c.1685 to the present
day. Topics include the court art of Louis XIV,
the influence of trade with the East, William
Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement,
Art Deco and Modernism. The course
concludes with an exploration of the plurality
of approaches, including Pop, Postmodernism
and conceptual design.
