Art Business, Singapore

The art and antiques market is a multibillion dollar industry, which employs hundreds of thousands of professionals in small and medium-sized businesses as well as a number of large enterprises. And nowhere is that art industry booming as much as it is in Asia.

The Master of Arts Degree in Art Business offered by Sotheby’s Institute of Art – Singapore prepares students for careers in the commercial art world, with a particular emphasis on working in Asia and with Asian art. The curriculum is designed for students who already have an art background and want to understand business theories and practices, or those with a business background with a strong interest to enter the art industry. The programme is not a business degree but a degree in the business of art, and its unique perspectives.

The specially designed and structured programme consists of eight modules, with each module programmed to run over a three-week period, and a final dissertation. In addition, the programme includes study trips throughout Asia including China, India and Hong Kong.

A two-year option for the MA in Art Business programme operates for students who have an active interest in doing the programme but have limited time. The two-year option will allow students to spread the eight modules over two years rather than one.
