Art objects are being used by organized crime to launder money, fund criminal activities and even terrorism. In times of war art is often looted by victors or lost; recovery and restitution are often difficult and time-consuming. The origins of looted art from a tomb or a shipwreck are opaque. In this course participants will get an insight into these and similar important legal questions surrounding the art markets, including international conventions and intellectual property rights.
