This course explores avant-garde developments in design and the decorative arts from Art Nouveau to Post Modernism and the pluralism of the present day. The market for 20th century and Contemporary design is thoroughly investigated through exclusive contact with the auction house and dealers.

The course highlights the interaction between design and the fine arts and design objects are studied in the context of architecture and interiors. Lectures are enriched by visits to museums and galleries.
