This exciting course provides students with an introduction to the ever-changing global art market and the individual sectors which comprise it, whilst promoting a better appreciation of how these sectors perform under fluctuating economic conditions.
Structured around a season of prestigious summer sales at Sotheby’s, it provides students with an insight into the mechanics of the leading auction houses and the art world as a whole. The course includes a diverse schedule of visits to galleries, museums and stately homes which aims to promote an enhanced understanding of the market value of an array of art objects.

The Summer Study courses can be accredited through your university based on prior approval. For students at postgraduate level wishing to apply, tutors will allocate additional projects and grade on a higher level

Sotheby’s Institute of Art reserves a certain number of rooms near the Institute for the duration of the Summer Study courses. There will be several options depending on student needs. Updated costs and details will be available soon.
